Mariyus Casteledo (マリユス・カステレード, Mariyusu Kasuterēdo) is the deuteragonist character in the Hortensia Saga series. Her real identity is Princess Marielle D'Hortensia, who escaped with the help of Maurice Baudelaire during the siege of Hortensia.

Appearance

Mariyus has green eyes and long blond hair tied back. She wears a hooded primarily blue and white jacket with gold colored trim over a metal chain-mail, black pants, and thigh high brown boots. On her person, he carries a rapier on her left side.

Personality

Mariyus is protective of her friends and hates to lose. She has a strong sense of justice and cannot stand to see people in pain. Because she's been hiding her true identity from her Kingdom, she feels immense guilt for the suffering her people have fallen to in the hands of the

Background

Amid the siege of Hortensia 3 years ago, Mariyus became an orphan and was thereafter adopted by Maurice who took him back to Ober. Presently, Mariyus is a servant and apprentice knight to Alfred.

In reality, Mariyus is Princess Marielle D'Hortensia who was rescued my Maurice after her after her Father, the King, was killed by Rugis, who turned into a Werewolf. Maurice advised her to cut her hair and live under an alias in his brother's feudal land in order to stay out of sight and protected from the Pope.
